Trans & Non Binary Improv / Wisconsin Laugh Trip

  • IX Art Park - Indoors 522 2nd St SE Charlottesville, VA 22902 (map)

Improvisation can be a beautiful, collaborative art form that creates comedy through risk, trust, emotion and willingness to be surprised.

Also, at its core, it’s just a lot of fun.

This is a FREE two hour intro to improv workshop geared for trans and non-binary people. These groups are sorely under represented in the improv community and the hope for this workshop is to introduce people to the fun and creativity in improv. This workshop is specifically for those with no improv experience.

About your instructor:
L.E. Zarling has been performing and teaching improv since 2003. She has taught workshops at theaters and festivals nationwide. Her current one person show- Wisconsin Laugh Trip- has taken her from coast to coast and has been described by audience members as ‘the most fun ever’.

Wisconsin Laugh Trip

L.E. Zarling's Wisconsin Laugh Trip is an improvised trip around this big ol' country called America.   The show features monologues from characters L.E. has met or imagined or invented on her travels, who are then filtered through her Wisconsin sense of hard work, sarcasm and gemütlichkeit.

There might be some audience participation and there will definitely be a sing along at the end.
